Pass-a-Grille, Florida

Pass-A-Grille Beach Community Church

The laid-back community of Pass-a-Grille, with about 15,000 residents, is at the southernmost end of St. Pete Beach and is the last beach on our long strand of beaches in Pinellas County. It lies 16 miles south of Indian Rocks Beach. PAG and IRB are often held up as the county’s best examples of beaches that have maintained some historic architecture, avoided high rises and kept somewhat of an “old-Florida” feel.

Here, Vacation Donations has partnered with the wonderful and very active Pass-A-Grille Beach Community Church to collect vacationers’ leftover non-perishables. The church belongs to the United Church of Christ, a progressive Protestant denomination “that encourages people to study the Bible seriously, and not accept it literally.” It has been collecting food from churchgoers for years, but now we’re hoping to increase donations by encouraging vacationers to give as well.

The food is then donated to the Good Samaritan Church Food Pantry and the St. Petersburg Free Clinic.

Also, the Pass-A-Grill Community Church runs a thrift shop from September through May, so vacationers can also donate and shop there in order to raise funds for the church and the many nonprofits its supports.

What to donate
• Unopened non-perishable food like soup, canned fruit, cereal, rice, pasta, pasta sauce, canned vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, and more.
• Baby food
• Pet food, wet or dry

How to donate
The donation bin is on the backside of the church and is covered. It is accessible 24/7.
